He Big, He Mean, He RED!

SPOILER WARNING! IF YOU HAVE BEEN READING THE HULK BOOKS LATELY AND DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED ON WHO RED HULK IS DO NOT READ FURTHER!

Well today's as good as anyday to get started on this thing. Might as well start off with something recent.

I just got a HUGE pile of books this week, among them was Hulk #23.

This issue has been hyped for a while now as the "Origin of the Red Hulk" who was revealed to be...General "Thunderbolt" Ross!

Many people hated Red Hulk, or Rulk as he's become known as lately, because they felt, when he was first introduced, he was nothing more than a walking Mary Sue...or Canon sue, take your pick. And let's not forget THIS 'classic' image

But you know what? WHO CARE?!? THe early 12 issues of this series, where it was just mindless entertainment, was just that! Entertaining! I mean I LOVED seeing Rulk tear beat up Uatu the Watcher!

THat was the whole point of the first 12 issues, at least from a reading standpoint. Later on we found out that the fighting and stuff actually served a purpose. That purpose being to allow Rulk to absorb as much different energies as he can to be put into...well...This

But, again WHO CARES! It was mindless fun!

That's the basic thing about the Red Hulk, it was all done, as Jeph Loeb himself has put it a bunch of times, to be mindless fun! It's a "Turn your brains off" type entertainment. That's why I like the Red Hulk, that's why it's so fun! It's stupid fun at times, sure, but I was always entertained by it! Isn't that what comics is all about? To go in and get entertained by it? And don't we, at times, usually just go in to see mindless action summer blockbusters? That's what Hulk was for me, mindless Summer blockbuster type stories that I can go in, turn my brain off, and get entertained without having to think too hard about it!

Introductions and all that

Greeting and welcome to my World of Geekdom! I'm the Starred Child aka Robert Willing. I live in Novi, Michigan, am 25 years old (as of this post), and I LOVE almost all things geek related. Comics, movies, TV Shows, Cartoons, you name it, I'm into it...except music *Dodges trash thrown* wow wow I didn't mean it like that. You see I'm not a music Fanatic! I love music like anyone does, only my tastes are specific to songs I just like. I don't have a favorite band.

So why do this blog? Well I've been reading many blogs over the years and watched a lot of video reviews from the guys at That Guy with the Glasses and the Angry Video Game Nerd (look em up if you don't know who they are). I decided to throw my hat into the ring too...eventually. I want to get started on doing my own videos but I want to at least get the hang of writing my feelings into words. So that is part of what this blog is going to be for. Also it'll allow me a place to post my videos too.

The things I'll be posting will be geek-related news, my opinions on said news, my opinions on things geek related (Especially comics), talks about stories I'm working on (yes I'm a fan fic/story writer in my spare time...sadly nothing publish...yet!)

Now my posts I'll try to do it, at the very least, every other day but no promises. But at the most I'll go for weekly.
